About
Kiu-wai Chu received his educations in both Hong Kong and the UK. He completed his Bachelor degree in SOAS, University of London, and his MPhil. in University of Cambridge, concentrating in Screen Media and Cultures. He completed his second Masters in Literary and Cultural Studies at the University of Hong Kong where he is also a PhD candidate.
He is recently named a junior Fulbright scholar (2012-2013). He will spend ten months in the English Department (Literature and Environment) of the University of Nevada, Reno, and work with leading scholars in ecocriticism.
He has been a college lecturer in the Centre for International Degree Programmes (CIDP) of HKU SPACE from 2007-2010, teaching programmes in Asian Studies, Media and Cultural Studies. He is also an examiner of Hong Kong Arts Development Council, in the Film and Media Arts Division.
His research interest lies in contemporary Chinese and Southeast Asian cinema, Ecocriticism and Environmental Thought in Visual Culture.
